Fallen off the wagon

So I only really have 3 New Year's Resolutions.....1-Strengthen my relationship with God, Family, and Friends......2-Make at least one new recipe every week.......3-Blog once a week. Of course there is the losing weight but I know this already, this is a battle with me on exercise so I'm not counting it as a NYR.
The fallen off the wagon....blogging!! I don't know why I can't do it. So many funny things happen, stress worthy of venting, or posting new videos of Gabe walking, finally finding the pots and pans, and pictures!!!! So I'm jumping back on the wagon and here is my blog for this week *wink wink*

Last Post then Caught Up.....

So it has only taken me 9 days into the new year to finish blogging and be caught up with year 2009 - LOL. So this blog will be short and I think I will let the pictures explain it all...Christmas Eve we opened our home to friends that couldn't go home or didn't have any family coming to town for Christmas. House was full of friends, LOTS of food, and the night warmed my heart.

Christmas day I started a new tradition....setting up the video camera and recording the whole Christmas morning....still haven't watched it though :0). Gabe enjoyed opening presents but after a couple he was over it and decided to do something else.....WALK!!!! Oh this will be one of my favorite Christmas' forever.

New Year's Eve was okay. Nathan had to work. Of the 9 years we have been together I can only remember one NYE night that he hasn't had to work. Gabe and I did go to dinner with friends but really missed Nathan.

So this is my last blog post for 2009......let the new year be just as fantastic as the last one!

Winter ONE-derland

December 17, 2008 changed my life forever. A year later, December 20,2009 we celebrated our first born, Gabriel Thomas May, turning one....Winter ONE-derland style! I have been told over and over again to cherish the moments with Gabe because they go by so fast. I would smile, nod my head in understanding, but never fully grasped the truth in what people told me! Having a child changes your life but until you hold your child in your arms for the first time, you really don't get that statement!

With Nathan and I, being parents has made our lives more rich with love, compassion, and laughter! Don't get me wrong there have been moments of tears, frustration, and asking myself what I have gotten myself into?!?!
However, seeing our son surrounded by friends, his parents, and his MeMaw May to celebrate his first birthday a very real thought came to me. I knew that having Gabriel is one of those life experiences that I would not change for the world!
So here is the party and what a GREAT party it was! I chose the theme after much thinking searching the internet. I stumbled across a blog Everyday Celebrations and found the theme I wanted to do. I planned for a few months, fell in love with The Dollar Tree all over again, and baked my first homemade cake. We were to have the party at the clubhouse but because of unethical workers at the clubhouse, we ended up having the party at home. So gonna let the pictures speak for themselves!!
